The basic budget tool is built in Google Sheets so it works for free online or in your Excel application if you prefer.
This tool allows you to track all of your expenses, income, investments, and your savings rate.
If you have a healthy relationship with credit cards, they can make the process easier. Just transfer over your expenses once a month. If not, just try to take some good notes in your phone or directly update your spreadsheet as you make purchases.
Over time, you may not need to do this process, but doing it yourself in the beginning is the most powerful step you can take to clarifying your financial journey.
